My birthday. Your due date. But, you didn’t arrive on your due date. You arrived on your Mommy’s birthday, the day after my birthday.
That day was one of the best days of my entire life. You see, I dreamt of you long ago. Long before Mommy called me to tell me she was pregnant with you. That day was the most exciting day of my life. Because that day, my dream came true. You.
On June 18, 2008, we…your Mommy and Daddy and me, made our way to the hospital where you were to be delivered. I took pictures and video of this day. Drove your Mommy crazy I’m sure, but there was no way I wasn’t going to capture as much of this special event as I could.
That evening the really nice nurses set Mommy up to be induced. They didn’t even get started good and you decided, you would come on YOUR time, good girl! I had already left the hospital to go back to Mommy’s apartment and was barely there when I got the call; Mommy’s water broke, so back to the hospital I went. We waited all night, Daddy slept on the floor, Mommy in the bed and me on the couch.
The next day was hopping! People, your special people from all around, came to wait on this special little one that was to arrive that day. We filled the entire waiting room with the folks that didn’t want to miss this event. Nan & Pops was there, Aunt Erin, Me, Uncle Trey, WeePaw and Red, Aunt Ashlea, Aunt Jami, Uncle Scott, some of Mommy’s best friends were there, Mary, Kelli, Brandon and Beau, your cousin Ethan was even there! So many were waiting on you. You have a lot of special people in your life and as you grow you will see just how special each of them is.
The time came, they said Mommy was ready. Your Daddy and I got to stay in the room while the fabulous Dr Seal delivered you. Mommy was a trooper and did what she was told. I remember asking Dr Seal, “As soon as she is born, I can start taking pictures, right?” She said yes! and I DID!
Let me say, it was the most amazing day ….wait, I’ve already said that!
Mackenzie Ann Parker, just know, that I dreamt of you and you came true. You have changed my world beyond belief. I never knew I could love someone so much that I just met. You will always be special to me! You were due on my birthday, but you came on your Mommy’s birthday. You came when you were ready. Know always Mackenzie, you are my sunshine, always.
I love you!
